Welcome Autumn!!
Autumn is officially here! It’s time to get cozy eating chestnuts and warm drinks. Like every year, we celebrated our Magosto party this November. It was so much fun! We ate chestnuts and played lots of games. We also celebrated Halloween with scary costumes and funny songs. How terrifying!! We also made some murals to celebrate the arrival of the new season. Welcome to School! We visit the Mines of Kaolin
Last September we started a new school year. Do you want to hear about one of the activities we did since the beginning of school? Our pupils from 5th and 6th grade visited the Mines of Kaolin in Vimianzo, a small town near Santa Comba. There we learnt a lot about how kaolin is used in many products such as cosmetics, deodorant, paracetamol or shoes! A lot of things can be made from this material and learning it was more than impressive. First we heard about the story of the mine and how it works: Then we could see some objects made from kaolin. Premio a la Excelencia Educativa
Last week we went to the Educational Excellence Awards Ceremony, held in Santiago de Compostela. Our student, Pablo Pena was honoured with a prize for his academic trajectory. This prize valued his excellent academic results but also his kindness with his schoolmates, his effort in every subject, his desire for improving and his eagerness to learn. Pablo was of course very happy and proud to receive this award. This event was also featured in the news. You can read it here. Congratulations Pablo, it was well deserved!! We wish you and your classmates the best in high school!

School is over!
We can’t believe the school year is over! These last months simply flew by! On Friday, 21st of June we had the very last day of the academic year. After exams, hours of study and work all we have left is celebrating and say goodbye until September! In order to celebrate the end of the school year we held different activities for our students. Our classmates from preschool enjoyed a ride in our circuit. There they had the opportunity to learn safe driving education while having fun. Take a look! End of year trip
This month our school mates from preschool enjoyed a trip out to celebrate the end of the school year. In this trip they visited a park full of fun activities to do! Here you can see them as they arrived at the park: They were so excited! Inside they took part in a lot of different activities. In the pictures below you can see them driving in the kart circuit! It seems so much fun!! After karts they had fun in the swings, the trampoline, the bouncy castle, board games, puzzles…There was so much to enjoy! The bravest ones even tried archery! Have a look! Visiting Naturmaz
Last Thursday we visited Naturmaz, an adventure park in Mazaricos. The weather was fantastic and we couldn’t be more excited to spend a day in the nature! We divided in two groups. First, we did archery. As you can see in the pictures below, we first tried with ballons, but then we had a proper dartboard. Look how well we did! After archery, we went to the climbing wall. Letras Galegas!!
The 17th of May is a very important date for all Galician people! On this date we celebrate our heritage, culture and literature. Every year one galician writer is honoured for his or her trajectory. This year Letras Galegas is dedicated to Antonio Fraguas. We prepared some murals inspired by Antonio Fraguas’ work: The day before Letras Galegas we celebrated a festival in our school. Our first and second grade schoolmates acted in a play called Berenguela, aventuras e desventuras dunha espiña de toxo. They were amazing!! Congratulations, you are fantastic actors and actresses! Our older schoolmates recited some beautiful poems by Antonio Fraguas and Rosalía de Castro….

We read our stories in Radio Xallas
A few weeks ago we participated in a prize organized by Santa Comba’s town hall. The contest was about writing stories based in our town. We had the opportunity of showing all of our creativity and storytelling skills!! Some of our school mates won prizes and they got to read their stories in the local radio station, Radio Xallas. Visiting Brión!
Recently we enjoyed a visit to Brión to see how Civil Guard work in special operations. It was amazing!! Do you want to see what we did there? Keep reading! Mother’s Day
Last Friday we celebrated Mother’s Day. We prepared a lot of gifts for our beloved mothers. Do you want to see them? Dou you like these brooches? Our 3-year old school mates made them for their moms! Each of our 4-year old and 5-year old schoolmates from preschool made this beautiful necklace. Isn’t it amazing? In first and second grade, we worked on some necklaces as well. We made them with clay and painted them blue and pink. We’re very happy with the result and we think our mothers will be too! In third grade we made these beautiful notebooks.
